| It is correct that I booked the hostel. However, upon arrival it was agreed with the nighguard that I book accommodation in a different hostel. The people at Kolkota Salt Lake YH were very friendly and helpful - I do not want to be misunderstood here - but the hostel acts more towards being a nightshelter than what the average backpacker expects from a (basic) hostel. | I do not recomend any foreing to stay in this hostel, very dirty, I got a very rude treat from the people there, I paid one night, but I did not stay there even 6 hours.

| The staff didn't go out of the way to help us and only the manager seemed to have any English. As this is an international hostel I expected more help and information. There were no maps or general information on sights. The rooms were clean but sheets quite stained. It was quite a taxi ride to visit any of the city. (166673) | |||
