The staff here are great. Maps are provided and the staff were very helpful with telling me which buses to get etc. The hostel is nicely located for central Xi'an and there is a convenient bus that goes from near the hostel to the main central sights/areas. The courtyards of the hostel are really beautiful and the whole place is very clean. The rooms were basic but adequate - good for the price you're paying!

The Hostel has nice instalations but the toilets and showers could be cleaner. If you stay in a dormitory these services are outside the room and you have to cross the garden, this can be very cold in winter. The staff is not friendly at all, when we asked for advices they answered with a bad mood face and did not helped at all. It s written on th website that they can pick up people from the train station, we asked freindly for this service and they said they dont have it. It is true, the hostel is not far away from the train station, if you have less luggage you can walk. But at night and with luggage it is better to take a taxi.In this case you have to e carefully, taxi drivers like to ask for 100 rmb insteed for (the fair) 10rmb. The hostel is also good located.

We had booked 2 rooms of 3 people and end up with one of 3, one double and one single... Because some people had decided to stay one more day! But everything else was nice.

Very cold room but comfortable and clean. We booked a tour of the terracotta warriors with the hostel. The price was great and the lunch was okay. However our tour guide's English was a little labored which made the experience a bit of hard work. Having said that - he was very nice and took pictures of us on our camera which you wouldn't get on your own!!!

I would like to extend my thanks to a male staff (Cantonese-speaking male) there who provided us great and helpful information.

A beautiful hostel in a historic courtyard setting, complete with circular moon gates. Recommended for travellers who prefer staying in historic buildings instead of bland modern hotels. Friendly, helpful English speaking staff. Exceptionally clean and well maintained with all the facilities you would expect at a top quality YHA. The quality and comfort of the twin ensuite room we stayed in was of a much higher standard than some hotels. Around 10-15 minutes walk to the Xi'an train station (where you can catch a public bus to the Terracotta Warriors). Thank you to all the hostel staff for a very enjoyable stay.

We had a really hard time finding the hostel since there wasn't any sign in English (which we found many of in the bathroom, they seemed to have been assembled down and put there). Luckily we found one who spoke both English and Chinese who called and got specific directions to the hostel. While there, everything worked fine, but some things took a while before they were done. The staff lacked any kind of initiative. When we wanted details about how to get to attractions they advertised we had to pull every answer out of them and often we didn't get more than general answers. All trips they advertised and we wanted to go on were not arranged by anyone but instead a bus number to find on our own down at the bus station. (They couldn't tell where at the station, and no one mentioned when we asked that there's a huge map on a wall inside the city wall part of the station which we found our second day walking around lost looking for buses.)
