Location is about 20 minutes walking from the main train station. Lots of cobblestone so be prepared to haul your luggage to the end of CollegianstraBe to the Castle Church. As an American, I DO NOT recommend this place if you want your stay & adventure in Lutherstadt-Wittenberg to be pleasant. They were of no help when it came to sites, etc. They charged me for breakfast when I didn't eat it & the worst part for me was that they changed the price on me when I got to the hostel. I was told one price when I made my online booking & then when I got to the hostel late at night w/no where else to go, they charged me more & say there's "NOTHING they can do." Talk about bait 'n' switch. The manager didn't even try to fix the problem when the staff member called her. My whole experience at Wittenberg would've been ruined except I was lucky enough to meet some super nice locals who showed me around.

I have stayed before at this hostel and it is one of my favourites. The score on the first 2 criteria above is brought down by the alternately offhandedness and control freakery of one member of the reception desk staff.

Great hostel. We stayed here as we were going to the Melt! festival in nearby Ferropolis. We will be staying here again next year, thank you.

some of your personnel need a personality transplant(especially the fat lady with the glasses) also it would be useful if you had a bell to alert staff that a guest is waiting to be served instead of them hibernating in an office.

This was a nice hostel. Because of road construction, I had a difficult time finding it. It is located quite a walk from the train station, but I knew this when I made plans to stay here. If I was in the area again, I'd certainly stay here again.

We had a wonderful stay in Wittenberg. There were only two staff related things that marred it. One was a very unhelpful night clerk who would not grant us a few minutes of internet access to locate our train the next morning and a camera that got left behind and has still not been returned or a plan developed for this to happen. Other than this, I can't think of a better place to stay here in Wittenberg for its location, cleanliness, and good breakfasts.
