I was there for skiing and I had a car, so the location worked well for me. It's out of town though, so if you don't have a car or you want to do much in town, the location isn't as good. The dorm room is quite big, so you'll hear a lot of people getting ready for bed if they go to bed after you. Anyway, I was just there from late evening until around 8 am, so I can't comment much on the amenities and the scenic location.

Hostel is a bit of the way if you don't have a car and there wasn't much by way of security (but don't think it was needed much out there). Staff were great, so friendly :-)

Hi survey team, I had to cancel my booking for these dates. I stayed at Banff HI instead. Thanks, Heather

Great staff, funny place, the distance from downtown could be a small problem, but definitly this distance determines a better friendly enviroment because people stay in the hostel in the night you can talk each others around a bonfire! Recommended!!!

dorms are too big and the hostel is too far from the village. besides that there was supossed to be wifi, and in the end there wasn't. however, staff was very friendly and the kitchen is will equiped.

More like a hotel than a hostel, a great place to stay!

you definitely need a car to get there! anyway, it has a good worth of the money at least for this tourist season of the year! get ready to be welcomed by all the mosquitoes outside haha! Friendly and helpful staffs.

Hostel response:
Hi, Thanks for the response! You’re right; we are a bit out of town (about 7km in fact). However, any budget travellers can make use of the shuttle bus service that runs from May through until October from 611 Patricia street, between 9am and 5:15pm. The shuttle is a bit cheaper, only costing $5 one way or $8 for a return ticket. Taxi cabs are also an alternative for those travelling in a group or arriving late at night and they are reasonable priced at about $15-$18. You’ll also be happy to know the mosquito population is on a decline (fingers crossed), which hopefully means, we’ll see you again soon! All the best and thanks! Emilie

Staff very friendly. Had a very pleasant stay. Great there was a shuttle van that was able to take/pick up from the hostel or it would have been very difficult (or costly by taxi) to get there. As the dorms are rather large I would only say it is 'fair' value for money.

We were a bit skeptical when we booked this as we weren't sure how such a big dorm would be, but it is more like a few rooms joined together with no doors. It really depends on what bed you are in what it will be like. I would recommend asking them when they check you in which bed you are in and looking on the chart. Staff were friendly and helpful. Hostel is a bit out of town, if you have a car no worries, or else a bit of an effort to get into Jasper.
