This was the best hostel I've stayed in whilst backpacking Canada. There are heaps of activities, pub crawls, walks etc to help you make new friends (great for independent travellers). The staff are really friendly, and more than willing to assist with questions. The rooms are pretty cool too, the dorm I stayed in had a little ensuite. Would stay again, and recommend others to stay too. Thanks for a great time :) (233319)

I really like this hostel ... friendly staff, comfie bed, great bar/cafe downstairs, and only minutes from the Metro and rue Ste-Catherine. In-room lockers large enough for a backpack or a carry-on suitcase would be nice, and would reduce room clutter. Outward-swinging door to small toilet/shower room would facilitate entry/exit without need of Houdini-esque contortions (I'm slim). Great location and very close to the Metro. Easy to get around in Montreal. Hostel response: true it is very easy to get around our beautifull city is not to big not to small... we love it too!! (229971)

I love this hostel. I have stayed at many around the world and this is one of my favourites. The room was clean and the bed comfy. Great social areas and staff were fantastic. Had a really great stay. Only thing that would be nice is a quiet room for reading, but apart from that, excellent hostel. Hostel response: Thanks!! yeah we know about the quiet room... it is a great idea. We will keep it in mind if we renovate the basement. For now.. for this year only a change of color is schedule. There are conflicts of interest when HIs are seeking to sell food and alcohol while limiting kitchen faciities and banning BYO alcohol. Hostel response: Bonjour Peter, Hum not sure what you mean by conflict of interest. We do have a Café that serves food I think it is a fantastic thing to have on site. Very practical And we don"t limit the access to the kitchen facilities (except maybe when we clean it around 2p to 3pm) but you are free to cook your own meal even encourage do to so if it make you save money while travelling. We are all backpackers here, all the staff so we know how it is. It is true we do have an alcohol permit because we sell alcohol . The reason you can not bring your own is because it is against the law if we have an alcohol permit. Would you say that a restaurant has a conflict of interest if they don"t allow you to bring your own wine since they sell some. It is the same thing for us. The breakfast isn't included in the price of bed. If the check-in is possible all day, that was perfect! Hostel response: Bonjour, well, check-in normally starts at 1pm for a few reason. 1. People can sleep until 11 am on their departure day so we can not really give their bed away while they sleep 2. We need to clean the room before we rent them. If the room become vacant early in the morning and we cleaned it.. early check-in are possible. The staff at the desk will tell you if it is possible so you won"t have to wait.
