Super Duper location - the friendliest and most helpful staff in my almost 40 years of 'hosteling'. The breakfasts were wonderful - varied and plentiful. I stayed an extra three nights because I liked the hostel so much. The doors, especially to the douche/toilets are filthy - coated in at least a couple of years dirty - other than that it was pretty clean.

A famous drum school is right across the street, which is awesome but means there is constant drumming from 9am to 5:30pm if you get them on one of their practice days. The hostel itself is in a great part of town and the staff is incredibly helpful and friendly. They have a board with stuff to do each day, and if you have anywhere you want to go, the staff if great about figuring out how to get you there. The only bad thing I can think of is that the water in the showers isn't very hot. Highly recommend.

The location is the best part of this hostel. Right in the heart of Peulorinho & next to the Olodum school. I was there during the Sao Joao festival, so it was great staying there with all the action just steps away. Friendly staff & met some cool people in the dorms too. A pretty social atmosphere.
