We requested a family room as my daughter gets scared to go out of the room in the night for toilet visit... and was told that we have our own bathroom and toilet... we go up to the room and realise that it was our own but across the corridoor... moreover the bathroom would not lock... so we all had to skip our bath for the day... thank god we were thereonly for a night!!!!!!!!

smoking catered for in foyer of hostel, arrived for check in and whole place smelt of foul stale smoke, the cleanliness factor is marked due to this, nice city to visit spoilt by smoking indoors

I think the accomodation is very compact and there should be big rooms for the beds..

Very bad experience with this hostel. Booked a 2 person private room for approximately 30 euros. Arrived late PM and had to walk all the way from the hostel (unadvertised distance) and were informed that we would be in a dorm room, and that if we wanted a private room we would have to pay extra (for a room i already reserved). I gave up after a long arguement and agreed to pay the extra 20 euros. Then, we were told that it would only be taken in cash - what kind of hostel, especially a hostelling international establishment, doesn't take visa or anything else. This was 10 pm in Innsbruck and we were told to go to the bank machine (a 15 min walk, in the dark), where it was closed because it was Sunday. We then had to walk all thew ay to the train station and back (1 hr round trip) in order to find a bank machine. Also they wanted to keep my passport for a key deposit- I declined and gave them my license - seeing as my passport is worth its weight in gold as an overseas traveller.

IIt's a very good hostel ,maybe only problem it's far from center,above all in the evening, when you need to eat and drink it's not easy find a restaurant in the hostel area

6 in a room is too much for those small rooms. The bathrooms were not too clean. we don't recomend and we thing that it must be improved as quickly as possible (it was the worst were we have been just compared to one in Milan)

It was amazing what I have seen. A lots of young people drunk and carring lots of beers to the rooms, and nobody forbiden them, I can´t understand how can it be possible. There are no rules in Innsbruk youthhostel. Its a pity.

The quality and the efficency were very good. The only problem is that the hostel can't accept payment with credit cards. In my opinion, this is a problem that HAS TO BE solved.

We stayed in room B16. Unfortunately between a big group of children og young people, who were making extremely noise in the evening and the beginning of the night. They were screeming and shouting, slamming doors, knocking on both there own windows but also on ours several times. They were running on the flat roof between the buildings, climing in and out of the windows. 3 times from 22 p.m to almost 1 a.m. and was trying, both in english og german to make them go to bed and be quiet. In the morning I met one of the grown ups who I supposed must be their teatcher or leader or something like that, but she didn't care at all when I told her what has been going on. I didn't see or hear any grown ups in the evening keep an eye on the young ones. We didn't get much sleep, but except from that it was a good stay. We surely will be back when needed.
