Internet = 10 Min für 2 €. In dieser Zeit liess sich durch langsamen Aufbau gerademal der email-Account bei web.de öffnen. Das frz Internet in YH ist allgemein viel zu langsam und nicht mehr zeitgemäß.

I ate an evening meal provided in the hostel, and found that places were laid for everyone to eat together. This has both advantages and disadvantages -- at first I felt a bit left out as my French isn't very good, but once I found that some of the other people spoke English or could understand by French, I had quite an interesting conversation. I can't remember whether this hostel had a self-catering kitchen, and I didn't need to use it on this occasion, but if I'd been staying for longer I might have wanted to use one, in which case the lack of one would have been a disadvantage.

The younger member of reception staff was very helpful but the older member was quite rude and unhelpful which unfortunately tipped the "friendliness rating to poor" . It was a hostel full of old people on tour when we were there. The staff seemed more interested in catering for the large group than considering the needs of its individual customers. It is about a 40 min walk out of town up a big hill, not ideal for backpackers without transport. There is a bus but it runs infrequently. would book a hostel in town in future

Die Zimmertüre mit einer Karte zu sichern ist eine sehr gute Idee. Im Zimmer war zu wenig Stauraum für das Gepäck vorhanden. Das Frühstück war sehr dürftig. Der Sanitärbereich könnte sauberer sein.

The value of this was not good. At 20 Euros a night for a small room with 6 others most nights when an inexpensive hotel in the summer is only 40 is not good. What made me angry was that the hostel was quite empty, yet they still filled each room as much as possible for some reason. I understand that it is a 6 bed room, but that does not mean that it needs to put six in a room when the next room is empty. Why not 3 and 3? The hostel also did not have any free lockers and I had to pay about 2 Euros a day for the coin lockers.

Fabulous place to stay. Free bus during summer along valley as part of tourist service. Lovely helpful staff. Very good ambience - no member kitchen, but choice to buy evening meal (3 course) for 9 Euros, not bad, eat together with other guests - very pleasant. Bar, pool table. Only wish list thing would be a swimming pool, but perhaps you can't have everything.
