| We had a fantastic time and particularly loved the medieval banquet and tour. The only downside was the noisy room above us which woke us up at 1am. I don't know how you get round this, as obviously there are younger people (only just in this case!) who keep different hours to families.
It would be good to hear your thoughts on this.
Kind regards
Katherine Gilmore

| The Hostel is hard to get to without a car, but the location is perfect for walking in the beautiful Wye Valley. The staff is very helpful and very friendly. I had a great time! | ||

| It was unbelievable to be staying in such an old place that was so very well maintained. The surrounding area was breathtaking. We stayed in the Admiral's Quarters, the 12 bed family room at the very top of the winding staircase. There were only 4 of us, so there was plenty of space. The staircase was a bit daunting during a midnight trip to the WC, but we got used to it. Overall it was great and we highly recommend it. The food was good too. | ||

| The tower that my room was located ran out of hot water - just my luck - on the day of my pre-booked 1-night stay. Rather awkward going from one tower to another seeking an alternative shower with all one's toiletries, clothes, towel, etc.
Power points/mains - would be most helpful if these are available near the showers for hairdryers, etc.
Otherwise, a very interesting opportunity and the rare privilege of staying a night in a 12th-century castle, in the room where King John used to sit on his seat in the wall high up above where the bunk beds are.
