In addition, Sustainable Development will be one of the important elements in the programme, by means of discussion and learning by example and experience. During their stay, the participants will see, feel and talk about the subject in question and will have the chance to think about what they do in their daily routine and how to be aware of how much they can help in saving the environment. The goals of this ‘Sustainability through Hostelling’ programme are:

China: YHA China’s ‘Sustainability through Hostelling’ programme
YHA China has organised a programme, which provides an opportunity for young people from Yunnan and its neighbouring provinces, to achieve a better understanding of Conservation and Sustainability, as well as environmental awareness and practices.
The programme, which takes place from 04-06 July 2011, will cover a wide range of interesting activities; some of them physically challenging and others needing a certain degree of thinking and creativity. In addition, Sustainable Development will be one of the important elements in the programme, by means of discussion and learning by example and experience. During their stay, the participants will see, feel and talk about the subject in question and will have the chance to think about what they do in their daily routine and how to be aware of how much they can help in saving the environment. The goals of this ‘Sustainability through Hostelling’ programme are:
- To allow participants to widen their horizons, in terms of Conservation and Sustainability, and to discover simple ways by which they can help to save the environment.
- To provide a platform for an exchange of views, ideas and experience s pertaining to environmental issues from different walks of life.
- To enhance environmental awareness and practices among the participants.
