Situated right on Lake Zell’s south bank, boasting its own beach, Zell am See youth hostel is a paradise for swimming and water sports. Activities include surfing, sailing, river rafting, climbing, paragliding, diving as well as boat trips and at Kitzsteinhorn Mountain you can ski all year round, even in summer. Some of the regional highlights are the Großglockner Alpine Road, the Hallein salt mine, the Krimmler Falls and of course Salzburg as a major cultural centre.

| We had a wonderful holiday here. Beautiful location and views of lakes and mountains. For 2 days we did not leave the hostel but relaxed in the garden and swam from the patio in the lake. The cook made the effort to cook vegetarian food for us. Nothing was too much trouble. Amazing value in very comfortable hostel. | ||

| its a bit on the higher range for a hostel price. but the location is really great, the lawn is facing the lake, with plenty of kayaking n wind surfing facilities. also great for swimming. room is clean and plenty of free car parking space. free breakfast (7-9am) is cool too. we need to check out early, they even gave us packed lunch as replacement ;)
my only complain would be the Internet facility. there's no wifi, and the only way for you to go online is via 1 free Internet port. that would mean u need to bring ur own laptop. and being a big hostel, only 1 port availability for sharing is very limiting. I understand that this is probably used for boot camp sometimes, but the WiFi can be password-protected or turned off if needed? | ||
