Perth, known as ‘The Fair City’ sits on the banks of the River Tay. A popular town for shopping, many long established family businesses, specialist retailers and familiar chain stores sit alongside one another on the traffic-free High Street and in St Johns Shopping Centre. With loads of cafes, restaurants, bars, nightclubs and a concert hall and a theatre, the night life in Perth offers something for all tastes and ages: from class and sophistication to cheap and cheerful! Not to be missed is Scone Palace, original home of Scotland's Stone of Destiny where 42 of Scotland's Kings were crowned. Colourful floral displays and wonderful lush green parklands enhance Perth. These parklands survive today as the North and South Inches; superb public parks.

I arrived a bit early in the season, and deep cleaning was still in progress, so things were a little disorganized to start. The staff did there best to accommodate me and were extremely helpful and friendly.
