Customer Reviews Drumnadrochit - Loch Ness Backpackers

| We booked for dorm accomidation and on arrival we were told that we were to share a dorm with another couple and not in single sex dorms as we expected. We then paid extra for a double room.
The kitchen seemed well equiped except that the rings on the aged electric cooker were hardly up to reboiling a pan of water filled from a boiling kettle. Without the microwave we would have been unable to heat a meal. I have hosteled for many years and one of the advantage of hosteling over a B&B is that you can save money by cooking your own meals. | ||

| The only negative was having some food taken from the fridge. Both Neil and Wendy were v helpful and friendly. Thanks. | ||

| It has become apparent over the last fortnight during our LEJoG ride that staying in youth hostels can be more expensive than B&Bs/guest houses, especially when breakfast is added to the cost. | ||

| Bedroom (number 3) was cramped. There was no drying room!! Generally the facilities seemed inadequate for the number of people. But everything was well-cleaned and maintained. Hostel response: | ||

| No drying room, so couldn't get boots properly dry after a day's walking in heavy rain. Staff offered to put boots in the laundry room, but we could only get them back after 8am the following day - too late for our needs. Room was a little crowded (one bunk too many), so very little room for belongings, many of which had to stay in the car Hostel response: | ||

| I had to sleep in a room with a little child and a baby... | ||

| The staff was very friendly and the room was OK, but there were not enough toilets and showers. The location is OK too. | ||
