We booked a twin bed room with own bathroom via internet but when we arrived and paid they gave us a room without bathroom. when we asked for an ensuite we had to pay more although we already booked the right it. In the end we paid around 20 euros per night which was not a good value for money anymore. The common room was not that comfortable and in winter time pretty cold. The computers seem to be from the 90s and it takes hours to open a website, so really not useable. Further we booked a tour provided by the hostel to see the terracotta warriors including an english speaking guide. the guide was not really a guide, he did not explain anything or at least tell us sth about history of the sights we visited, so really really poor. it would have been better to go their on our own and booking a guide right there. To sum up, we are very dissapointed by this hostel and its` services, especially because it belongs to hostelling international.

This is a really nice hostel, and I really enjoyed my stay there, despite feeling a tad under the weather. The lady and I think it might have been her daughter, on the check-in desk were really nice, and very helpful. The situation of the hostel is wonderful - right by the South Gate of the City Walls, and it is close to Hui Min Jie - a famous street in the Muslim Quarter, where one can buy wonderful food at the nightmarkets. It was very nice - felt secure, clean, good value. The only problem for me was the mattresses of the beds. They were so thin, and unfortunately for me I have recently had a little back trouble, and it was a little like sleeping on a hard floor. A tad noisy perhaps at nighttime, because it is very close to where a lot of nightlife goes on, but as they say - if you want the rainbow you have to put up with the rain!

We really really enjoyed our time there and I can highly recommend this youth hostel - even for longer stays in Xian. Thanks a lot!

This is a very basic place to stay. However, it is great value for money: the location could not get better, they have rooms facing a courtyard with red lanterns... The streets around the hostel have been recently restored. We stayed with 3 kids (4-13). Many solo/duo travelers, many chinese travelers.

This was a lovely bustling place with a great mix of people and a happy upbeat feel. It was reasonably clean and comfortable and there was virtually no noise at night in spite of the busy bar just below us. We really enjoyed our stay and found the staff very friendly and helpful.
