With approx. 20km² the smallest of the North Friesian islands, Amrum is a popular North Sea resort. One of Europe’s widest sandy beaches, Kniepsand on the island’s west coast attracts as many visitors as the charming traditional village of Nebel. When you walk out of the hostel’s dining room onto the terrace the sea is right in front of you. The life-guarded beach is just 3 min away and the ferry terminal is equally close. Here you can take day trips, boat tours to the neighbouring islands or make the journey back to the mainland.

Wittdün youth hostel is approx. 300m from the ferry terminal right above the sandy bathing beach. The mud flats of Kniep Bay are right on our doorstep, ready to be explored. Our large terrace offers fantastic views of the beach and the sea.

Directions

Bus:	By coach or car: A23 and B5 to Bredstedt, then follow signs on the country road to Schlüttsiel and Dagebüll, from there take ferry to Amrum island.
Sea port:	WDR ferries (Wyker steamboat company) several times a day from Dagebüll and Schlüttsiel ferry terminals to Amrum (2 hrs travel).
Rail:	Train from Hamburg via Niebüll to Dagebüll-Mole (look at carriage destination), from there take ferry to Amrum island.
