In these densely wooded hills surrounded by marshes, meadows and cornfields you can still experience real nature. Wingst zoo is just 5 min walk from the hostel. Nearby facilities include a forest playground, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, a sports and play park with a 500m summer toboggan run and a long water slide, a giant cableway, a football field, trampolines, crazy golf, sand, water and adventure playgrounds, a pond with boat hire etc. You can also ride horses and hire carriages close to the hostel.
The youth hostel is a cosy traditional farmhouse with adjacent newly built bunkhouses. The hostel consists of four buildings altogether. It has a 5 hectare play area with open-air games, beach volleyball and beach soccer, bowls and a campfire site. Tannenhaus (57 beds) is wheelchair accessible. The closest railway station is 1km away.
