This Historic Homestead with comfortable homely ambience is situated on the banks of the Whanganui River and is a short step to Victoria Avenue, one of New Zealand’s most attractive high streets. Handy to all the Tourist attractions, this Hostel has great facilities including a terrific kitchen and spacious sub tropical grounds. The Hostel also offers free pick up service, subject to staff availability.Throughout the Winter months the Hostel is Centrally heated, to create a warm, snug atmosphere. Go on the Mail Run Tour of the River Valley ( pick up daily from hostel) or take a stroll down to the Paddle Steamer or on to the high street, check out the nearby Cafes and Restaurants and experience the wealth of heritage that Wanganui offers. We are just over an hours car run to the volcanic plateau and the ski fields. Walk the famous Tongariro crossing. Welcome to Braemar House!!
