The Y.H. is in the beautiful town of Verbania, in an elegant ninteenth -century Villa surrounded by 3000 sqm park, very close to Lake Maggiore, the city center and the tourist annd commercial center of Verbania.
Here you can spend your holiday choosing betweenthe many activities the city and the Y.H. offer: excursions to Monte Rosa and Valgrande National Park, guided tours to National Parks Devero and Veglia, boat trips to the Borromean Islands or the nearby town of Stresa. You can visit Switzerland and go skiing in the nearby Ski resorts.

| The location is great: Verbania YH is situated in a quiet park on the side of a hill overlooking the lake (limited view through trees) with plenty of meeting space inside and outside, only 5-10 min. walk from the center and pier; and Verbania-Pallanza is very well connected by bus and boats, allowing a variety of day-trips and walks. The breakfast-buffet is gorgeous for only 3€ (Sept.2011).
I just wonder why individual female travellers were packed in a tiny dorm (although enjoying half a balcony) while men seemed scattered in wider rooms; and mixed bathrooms with no dry space within the showers are rather unpleasant for women... As to the Internet connection for 1€ without time limit, it goes off if you forget to touch the mouse for only a minute !!! So better have your own Wifi-equipped device. | ||

| Fantastic Lakeside villa. Best hostel breakfast ever!
Take some mosquito repellant in summer though round those lakes. | ||
