Magnificient stone building in Valdeavellano de Tera, where, oddly enough, there are few hazelnut trees and where it is not the River Tera that flows, but the Razón and Razoncillo Rivers, with poplars, willows and birchs. It allows to see the remains of an old Celtiberian fortified village, Soria, Numancia, fossilised remains of animal tracks routes, Tierra de Pinares as well as enjoy Sierra de la Cebollera, Laguna Negra, Urbión and Tera Valley.
The hostel has rooms with 2, 3 and 4 beds. | Location: | Valdeavellano de Tera is located in the centre of El Valle region, one of the most northern regions in the province of Soria and, therefore, bordering La Rioja. It is between 41º 52´ and 42º North latitude and 2º 30´and 2º 45´East latitude. It is a distinguishing valley, hence its name, located in the South slope of Sierra de Cebollera (2,142mts), that belongs to the Iberian Mountain Range. It coincides almost completely with the valley where Razón River and its tributaries flow, located in the headwater basin of Duero River. About this area´s climate, we could say that the winters are cold, with snow and moderate rain, which contrast with the summers´ mildness. El Valle borders on Villoslada de Cameros and Lumbreras (La Rioja) on the north; on La Póveda, Arguijo, San Andrés de Soria, Almarza, Estepa de Tera (uninhabited) and Tera on the east; on Canredondo de la Sierra, Langosto and El Royo on the south; on Vinuesa on the west. It consists of the municipalities of Valdeavellano de Tera, Sotillo del Rincón, Molinos de Razón, Aldehuela del Rincón, Villar del Ala, Rollamienta and Rebollar. The approximate extension of Valle region is about 12,000 hectares. Nearby attractions: Mountain routes: Sierra de la Cebollera, Laguna Negra, Urbión, Valle del Tera. Cultural visits: Soria, Numancia, Ruta de las Icnitas, Tierra de Pinares. Access by public transport: To get to Valdeavellano de Tera from Soria, you can take two routes that are very similar in length, one is about 28 km and the other is about 34 km. The first route: take the N-111 Road that goes from Soria to Logroño and at the kilometre 244 approximately, once you have driven about 18 km from Soria, take the regional 820 Road towards the west, and you will be getting directly into El Valle. This is the route most of the region´s inhabitants use, and goes past Tera and Rollamienta to reach a bit later on Valdeavellano de Tera. The second route: to reach El Royo from the city of Soria on the N-234 Road towards Burgos. At 10 km from Soria, take the diversion that leads to the above mentioned village and from here, go through a short mountain pass and through Sotillo del Rincón to reach Valdeavellano de Tera. The most important towns near El Valle are: Almarza (the beginning of Montes Claros and Puerto de Piqueras region) and Vinuesa, a village located in Pinares region and at the point where Revinuesa valley and Duero valley meet. Bus Station: Bus: SANZ-TIERNO Company Departure to Soria: 2.00pm (3.00pm in winter). Departure to Valdeavellano de Tera: 8.25am (summer and winter). Nearest Train Station: Soria (no service to Valdeavellano de Tera). By road from the capital: 111 National Road to the 2.46 km and from here on the SO-820 Local Road to the hostel. 28 km from Soria. |
