Hostel Details

Vagnsstaðir is in the Suðursveit area, about 50 km west of Höfn and 28 km east of Jökulsárlón. The house is in an attractive area surrounded by a beautiful ring of mountains. Attractive hiking paths invite one into the surrounding area, using a hiking map, you get at the Hostel. The shore only 1500 m away, displays extensive birdlife, as well as seals on the beach frequently, and occasionally whales in the sea. From the Hostel there are jeep/snowmobile tours to Vatnajökull (Europa´s biggest glacier). You can choose among tours from 3-4 hours. It is also possible to combine a jeep/snowmobile tour and hiking. Please note that next grocery store is 50 km away. There is a gas station 1,5 km away from Vagnsstaðir but it does not have other provisions. Next Hostels: Höfn, 50 km - Hvoll, 110 km.

Great location to experience a super jeep excursion.
