Umeå is the city of birch trees but it is also a city of culture and knowledge, and one that is constantly growing. The University is the engine that feeds diversity and growth and encourages the rich cultural activities on offer.
Snowy winters and sunny summers are common in Umeå and the location of the city is unique for its proximity to the ocean and to mountains. This superb setting means there is a rich outdoor life and a large number of outdoor experiences to enjoy.
The hostel has welcomed guests since the 1920s and today offers modern and comfortable accommodation in central Umeå within walking distance to most attractions. There are single, double and multiple-bed rooms. A shower and toilet are available in some of the rooms or otherwise in close proximity.
Additional fee for non-members : 50 SEK per person per night, children 25 SEK per person per night.

| 1. Reception only open 2 hrs in morning, 2 hrs in evening. No directions on how to get key to room outside of these hours. 2. I was not provided with, or offered, sheets. Did not know I needed them/were available. 3. No lockers in rooms. 4. Location in city centre excellent. 5. No bar / socialization. | ||
