Uelzen – town of colourful art!
Uelzen has one of the most beautiful railway stations in the world, converted to a culture and environment station according to plans by Austrian artist Friedensreich Hundertwasser, combining artistic attraction and ecological functionalism.
Follow the "Weg der Steine" (path of stones) from the Hundertwasser railway station to the town centre. 21 colourful granite sculptures by artist Dagmar Glemme tell tales of dreams, love, paradise and music.

| Bus: | By coach or car: From A7 motorway take exit Soltau-Ost and continue on B71 to Uelzen, then take B4 direction Lüneburg (Lunenburg). From A250 (coming from Lüneburg - Lunenburg) or A2 (coming from Braunschweig - Brunswick) take B4 to Uelzen. The youth hostel is located close to the "Fischerhof" industrial area, in the Stadtwald (municipal forest) behind the railway bridge (max headroom 3.40m). |

| Location: | The youth hostel is located in the north of Uelzen close to the "Fischerhof" industrial area; from McDonald´s approx. 500m into the Stadtwald (municipal forest) behind the railway bridge. |
