Located in the heart of Thy, the hostel is the ideal base for group stays of almost any kind: sports camps for athletes, courses for school classes or stays for various interest groups. The surrounding scenic area is the most important element in Thy and therefore a major attraction in itself: the many plantations in the dunes, the game preserve by Hanstholm, the "Vejlerne" bird sanctuary and two of the cleanest lakes in Denmark, the Vandet and Nors Lakes, with their own unique flora and fauna. DANHOSTEL Thisted opened in 1977 and is situated in a former school. The hostel has been modernised, most recently in 1997. Its location just outside the town ensures a peaceful and quiet stay.
