Tampere Dream Hostel is a brand new design hostel run by a young, traveler-minded family. We offer excellent value-for-money in an international style hostel.

Dream Hostel Tampere – Hostel of the Year 2011 in Finland

Located only 5 minutes walk from the railway station, the brand new tastefully designed Dream Hostel embraces the unique feeling of the vibrant city of Tampere. You can choose your accommodation from a 2 to 4 bed private room to a bed place in a 4, 10 or 16 bed dormitory. Every room has a certain theme typical for the city – just by checking the room titles you get a good glance of the sights worth paying a visit to!

A private room is an excellent fit for couples, small groups and families, whereas a dormitory room sheds more of a sincere backpacker’s atmosphere for its dwellers. However, the new self-designed dormitory beds offer increased privacy for those who like to snuggle up in their own corner (besides being a good value for money!). Dormitory rooms are also a great choice to accommodate bigger groups. Sheets are included in the price and towels can be rented for a nominal fee. Shower and bathroom facilities are located right next to the rooms. In addition there’s a free Wi-Fi in the hostel area, laundry, luggage room, lockers and a sauna just around the corner.

Dream Hostel is located on street level near several well-known landmarks like Tampere Hall, Tampere University, Pakkahuone and Sorsapuisto park. Sights are within easy reach and the Dream Hostel neighborhood is surrounded by café’s, restaurants, nightclubs, shops and flea markets to keep you busy day and night. You can easily go around the centre by foot but if you wish to go further you can also rent bikes from the hostel!

Besides great location and accessibility, the award winner hostel (Hostel of the year 2011, HI-Hostels Finland) is known for its tidiness, easy-going atmosphere, joyful staff and cozy common area. Books, magazines and board games provide entertainment for you and your fellow travelers and in the fully equipped kitchen you can prepare your breakfast or cook your own gourmet dishes. The kitchen features a refrigerator, freezer, oven, microwave, and all other fundamentals of a Finnish kitchen, coupled with all the necessary tableware and a spacious area to enjoy your meal. Alternatively you can just enjoy the free coffee and tea before checking the best local tips from the staff.

As we all know, Finland is famous for its pure nature, thousands of lakes and peaceful forests. When travelling in the winter time you shouldn’t miss out the opportunity to dip in the frozen lake of Näsijärvi after relaxing in the hot and steamy sauna of Rauhaniemi. Summer is at its best on the beautiful ridge of Pyynikki where you can grab a sugary doughnut at the old observation tower. Climb on the top and get a glance of the city surrounded by two picturesque lakes. For culinary experiences remember to try out the black sausage with lingon berry jam in Tammela tori and to join for Dream Hostel’s free pea soup on Thursday’s!

No reason to visit Tampere except the relatively nearby national park, but there is no way to get there. Maybe shuttle service should be an option.

We felt "home" from the first minute on; the open kitchen & chill-out-area as well as the not too big number of rooms, create a familiar and relaxes atmosphere. The staff helped us to overcome any problems you might have as a non finnish-speaking stranger, everything was clean, modern and arranged with love. Perfect, guys!

Great friendly staff, with plenty of local knowledge of things to do... would definitely come back again! Beds are clean and comfortable, which can never be a bad thing!

Awesome close-knit accom, friendly staff and clean rooms/facilities. Warm in winter. Be aware that families use this hostel as well so sometimes little kids running around.

Excellent hostel, very good staff. Only things i'd say is the back door can be a bit unsecure, maybe lamps and the common room can be a bit noisy if you're in one of the rooms near the kitchen/lounge. Otherwise, good facilities, clean and new, good location.

When there is a large group (group of about 25 when I was there) they shouldn't be able to so completely dominate the kitchen/common areas for hours at a time preventing anyone else from cooking. - Couldn't figure out how to use lockers. Everything else is absolutely wonderful here.
