The woman who takes care of the YH does not speak English. She does her best to make our stay worse: The sheets are not clean, no home-shoes, bath closed at 21:00, lights turned out at 22:00, turned on at 7:00, men toilets with basins(hand washing) in the same room.... However, it is in a nice neighbourhood and the huge room is warm at night

we were out of season there, there were only two persons more, the temperature outside and in the diningroom was very low, in our room we had electic heating.

We were very disappointed with the service we received at Tensho YH. In all our travels over the last 25 years we have never been ordered to vacate our accomodation for 6 hours a day so that it can be cleaned. We found this extremely inconvenient as it was freezing cold conditions and we were forced to find refuge whether we wanted to or not. As a result i ended up getting a bad flu after our stay at Tensho YH which i'm sure wouldn't have happened had we been allowed to shelter in the room we paid good money to be in. This rule obviously needs to be stated to clients before they book, rather than sprung on them the morning of their first stay after they have paid the full amount for the room. We definitely won't be recommending this place to any furture travellors.

There were only a couple of guests in the whole hostel for most of my stay so it was like having the place to myself. The hostel is in a temple at the back of the city so it is really quiet, but very nice and friendly staff

We are the only occupants in the hostel, so it's a bit TOO quiet! Japanese bathroom was well maintain & spacious, vending machine was just outside the corridor. Washing machine & dryer was cheap & work perfectly, you can also hang out your clothes to dry under the sun :) Didn't try the PC though...
