Exit at the terminal stop (Taipei Railway Station East Gate 3), walk to our hotel for 15 minutes or take a taxi at a cost of about NT$100. b. CitiAir bus heading for the Taipei Main Station, dispatched at an interval of 30 minutes between 06:45 to 23:15, takes 70 to 80 minutes and charges NT$90 every passenger. Exit at the terminal station (Taipei West Bus Station Terminal A), walk to our hotel for 15 minutes or take a taxi at a cost of about NT$100. Go to the Taipei West Bus Station Terminal A to take buses from Kuokuang or CitiAir, dispatched at an interval of 15 to 30 minutes, from 04:30 to 23:20 everyday. | Hostel staff refused to contact the company running buses to the airport on my behalf in order to request a stop near the hostel for the following morning, or even to let me know existing stops to which I could walk. This added a huge inconvenience: carrying luggage to the subway at 5:00 AM, searching for the right bus station for an early AM flight. The hostel is also a hotel and Taipei hotels routinely do this.
Hostel staff failed to inform me before my check-out, either verbally or in writing, of telephone charges for local telephone calls made from my room phone. This created a very unpleasant surprise on check-out, and only by luck did I have the required extra NT$.
Hostel staff refused without explanation my request on my last night to trade worn coins and banknotes for fresher ones that I wanted to take with me as souvenirs - to simply look among their cash drawer for better specimens, which would have taken perhaps a minute or 2; I asked when noone was waiting. | ||
