Very good experience. This being a hoste, I would probably have preferred a lower quality for lower prices.

Ich wusste vorher nicht, dass es eine Jugendherberge ist und musste vor Ort noch eine Mitgliedschaft von 21,- Euro abschließen.

The staff weren't necessarily unfriendly, but there hardly any smiles and I was glared out of the basement for coming down to ask if there was a sink with a tap high enough to fill a large water bottle. Moreover, I was told 'no,' when I could clearly see there was one. It is also incredibly frustrating that there is nobody manning the front desk for much of the day. What if you end up needing help or to talk to someone during those hours? They seem to have a large enough staff to cover the desk 24 hours, but just don't want to inconvenience their employees. That said, the hostel itself was clean and comfortable, and I would consider staying there again were I ever to return to Tuebingen.
