Swellendam is the perfect place to set up base camp and explore the surrounds of Cape Agulhas, Robertson, Malgas, Buffeljachts, Bonnievale or Ashton with much to offer a variety of adventure activities. Resting between the Langeberg Mountains and the N2 highway, approximately 240km from both Cape Town and George, Swellendam is the perfect choice for a halfway stopover and as a base from which to explore the area.

Directions
| Bus: | The Baz Bus stops in front of our hostel, all days except Thursday and Sunday. In direction Cape Town and Port Elizabeth. Hop on hop off bus service, very reliable, safe and comfortable. |
| Parking: | Lots of free parking is available. Parking is on the road. Access for overland trucks, rooftop camping and caravans to camp grounds. |
| Location: | Swellendam Backpackers is set on a large lush property with a gurlgling river as border to the forest. Hiking with a picnic and horse riding is our thing. |
| Airport: | The Swellengrebel Airport is 5 km outside Swellendam on the Bontebok National Park road. |
