Mingtown Suzhou Youth Hostel is on No.28 Ping Jiang Road,Suzhou,China. Pingjiang District is the most ancient block in Suzhou downtown area.For thousands of years, Ping Jiang Rd keeps the old pattern--road paralleling to canal ,which makes it the most attractive ancient block.Visiters could take the wooden boats along the canal and observe native people’life there .The hostel is next to lots of historic sites and key points of interest, former residences of celebrities, classical gardens as well as Buddhist and Taoist temples. It only takes ten minutes’ walk to famous sights like Humble Administrator's Garden, Suzhou Museum, The Lion Forest Garden, Shan Xi Assembly Hall, Couple Garden, Guan Qian Street and there are also many buses to other sight-seeing spots in Suzhou city from here.If you want to touch the real and original Suzhou City, please go to Mingtown Suzhou Youth Hostel. | Great little canal-side hostel, cosy and well-appointed rooms and central location in the heart of Old Suzhou. The only downside is the low water pressure and delicate sewage system in the bathrooms. All said, I would return to Mingtown Suzhou YH the next time I'm in town. | ||

| Good location walking distance from station. Beautiful buildings and clean showers. Would be better if internet was free (most other hostels in China had free internet). Lots of tours and friendly staff, though sometimes felt the staff tried to sell the tours too much. You can get to many of the places by public transport although it will take longer. | ||

| I really enjoyed staying at Mingtown Hostel. It is very secure and well located. But the room and the reception counter and all the building, including the restaurant were very cold. Lack of equipment to heat the whole place. The bedroom was very cold. It was winter time and the temperature outside was about 0 degres Celcius but I would have been curious to have a thermometer with me to check the temperature inside.
