Backpackers love the original HI-SUCRE and Lonely Planet calls it the perhaps nicest hostel in the Andes!
A newly renovated colonial style building offers best beds and showers. Quality and cleanliness, as well as an international atmosphere are waiting for travellers from all over the world. A popular guest kitchen and common dinning room helps meeting people.
All beds/mattresses are specially made for HI Sucre so you can, unlike in many other Bolivian hostals, stretch! - Even if you're a lot taller than the average Bolivian! For everyone who is looking for something really or special or just wants to relax thoroughly after a tough journey we also offer a suite with panorama view of Sucre and a Jacuzzi Suite!
In our own Internet cafe 6 stations facilitate your communication to the outside world for only 3 Bs. per hour.
Most backpackers arrive by bus at the bus terminal of Bolivia's Colonial Capital - we are just a 1 minute walk from it. Also within walking distance are the 'Mercado Campesino', a very colourful indigenous marketplace and the historic city centre.
A guest comments: The best laundry service in town - within a day and dryed by natural gas heating!
'ESCUELA HI-SUCRE' - Improve your Spanish language - our professional teacher's team is ready for an intensive Spanish course whenever you want - from three days to 6 weeks, with certificate! But classes do not end here: Escuela HI-Sucre is the first language school in Sucre that also offers classes via Internet, so you can continue your classes with the same teacher even after leaving Sucre! (Check out spanish-viva-online.com)
Furthermore Hostelling International Sucre features a traveller's desk where you can book HIs at your next destination and organize trips to Potosi, Uyuni and many other destinations in Bolivia.
... or just enjoy our lovely garden and book the barbecue for a party with your friends.
English, Spanish and German spoken!

Just 150m from the bus terminal.

| Everything about my stay was great except for the front desk telling everyone that the hostel was full upon arrival. I also didn't like the fact that they turn the internet off at 11 pm every night. | ||

| The owner of the hostel - Arturo - was fantastic and helped a lot. The rest of the staff were quite surly and spoke hardly any English. Room was very stuffy. | ||
