Sköldinge the middle of the alternating Södermanland province - once described by Selma Lagerlof as "The beautiful garden. " Sköldinge is not only youth hostel, but also one of the oldest adult education colleges, which started already year 1872.
The school called in the vernacular of raising farmers and this would peasant sons to learn more about farming and brought up to be good citizens. The oldest houses in the area are over a hundred years old.
The hostel is not far to the nearest lake, and bicycles for hire. Just behind the school going Sköldinge lighted trails and a little more than three miles away going Sörmlandsleden. Sköldinge crossed also by Sörmland trails and bike trail Näckrosleden.
Here, in the middle of Södermanland, is a long list of attractions within easy reach. Julita courtyard and museums with Pettson Farm Sagostigen in Malmkoping, Parken Zoo in Eskilstuna, Gripsholm Castle, the Cathedral of Strangnas, Rademachersmedjorna in Eskilstuna and Vrå Stone Age are just some of the area's attractions.
