Hafaldan Hostel accommodates people in 2 different buildings. One Is the main building at Ránargata 9 at the fjords north side with it's homely atmosphere and good view to the fjord. During the summer the hostel's reception is located at Ránargata. The other building is a beautiful, wooden heritage house in town-center at Suðurgata 8. There you will find the reception during winter (15 October-15 April).

In both buildings we offer the same facilities for our guests: excellent common facilities like kitchens, dining and sitting areas and Internet connection. Washing machine for both hostels is at Ránargata. In Suðurgata we have 4 double rooms, 3, 4 bedded rooms and 3, 6 bedded rooms. At Ránargata there are 3 double rooms and 4, 4 bedded rooms.

The reception is located at their building in town, but there was no indication of this at the tourist information so I hiked to the building about a kilometer outside of town. The staff gave me a ride back, which was very nice. The hostel has the smallest pillows I have ever seen, and the shower on the first floor has no heat, but the second floor shower is quite comfortable. My room was on the first floor.

This is a nice little hostel in a town that really does not have much to do. I stayed in the newer building closer to town that is also where reception is (which should really be changed on the internet) which has nice common areas and is clean. Does get very busy during summer especially around Ferry departures

We got in really late at night and the guy working the desk stayed up and waited for us which was super nice of him. The kitchen and communal area were well maintained and had a great view of the fjord.

Excellent hostel: one of the best I have ever stayed in. Clean and efficient. No frills, but comfortable. Staff was very friendly.

We loved the hostel, it was the best we stayed in because of its character and atmosphere, you could feel a bit vunerable in the showers.

One of the best hostels in Iceland we stayed in. Our worst experience was Hofn, am going on Trip Advisor when I get a moment to deter others from that location. Overall, we stayed in several HI hostels and found them to be amazing places.
