International meeting and conference centre
In 1207 the mining town of Sayda was founded just 60km from Dresden, close to the Czech border where the ancient “Salt Street” and the legendary “Silver Street” met. The town (680m above sea level) is surrounded by vast forests. In the 15th century there was a mining rush started by extraordinary large copper and silver findings. After the decline of mining the locals looked for new ways of making a living. That was the beginning of wooden toy manufacturing. The Erzgebirge mountain range is one of Europe’s most varied and charming landscapes formed by human activity and characterized by its mining tradition, local crafts, homey Christmas lights and the locals’ love for their homeland. Sayda youth hostel, nestled in a romantic valley far from the big cities’ hustle and bustle, is located just 2km from the town centre and 6km from Seiffen, “capital of wood craft”.
People of 27 years or over pay a surcharge of €3 per night.
Surcharge for single and twin rooms p. p. p. n. (subject to availability): Single: €10 Twin: €4 (doesn’t apply to group guides);
Rebate for children: Up to 2 years free of charge, 3 – 13 years 30% rebate;
Group rebate: For a group of 20 paying customers another one totally free (accommodation, sheets and meals at the YH).
