There’s the Roman villa at Rockbourne, the Iron Age hill-fort at Old Sarum and the Regimental Badges of Fovant carved into the chalk downs, to name a few. Evening meals are available in the licensed on-site restaurant. The hostel has 70 beds and facilities include self-catering kitchen, laundry, internet access, and TV lounge.

It's a nice location, staffs. England traditional house! In the small forest, so big tree and birds singing. Breakfast and wifi are not free. But that's ok. It's a great time. I'll visit here again!

Satisfactory experience. Outstanding location. Only real complaint is that the floors squeaked enough to disturb sleep.

Windows only open 2 inches so stuffy especially when its locked....so hope never a fire. Mattress sinks in middle so had sore back. Lovely building. Felt ripp off with prices...having to pay a membership and then having to pay extra for services other hostels offer for free like 5 pounds for internet is crazy and 495 for breakfast and a small sweet for 395 and codffe the same price or higher than cafes was very diappointing so fed myself in the ill equipped kitchen. Should be cheaper offerings for having to pay a memebership. Girl at desk gave wrong info on time and getting off point so better to say dont know then give wrong info.

Quiet, secluded, yet close to downtown core, food store and transport. Large comfy lounge. Large yard with picnic tables and massive picturesque tree. Very friendly staff obviously love their jobs. Good breakfast. Wonderfull greeting from breakfast staff every morning. I have fond memories and no serious concerns for Salisbury HI. Except perhaps it would be prudent to post instructions on starting gas stoves in self-serve kitchen. Prohibiting doing ones laundry in kitchen sinks would be welcome accross all HI hostels.

Staff were very helpful and most friendly. The only reason I marked down on comfort was the beds/mattresses killed my back, to the point where the pain was accumulating from one night to the next. I had to change mattresses several times with only minor improvement. Also, the bathroom facilities were somewhat cramped. Other than that it was fantastic - staff and location being the highlights. Cheers. LM.
