We liked most of what we experienced in Rotorua HI , however the hand rails on staircases were sticky probably unclean. Also if you have a television get one that works or at least leave a note somewhere for customers to find out how to possibly make it work. Leave directions as to how hearing handicapped can access Closed captioning on your tv.

We were in a six bed mixed, which, given the size of the room, was a bit crowded. It would be nice if there was some additional storage space in the room, like small lockers or shelves. Otherwise, it was a nice place and I would stay here again.

I really liked this hostel. The location was really handy as a lot of the other places are on Fenton Road, and further out of town. You can walk to most of the major attractions close to town like the Polynesian Spa and Museum, and the shops are also within short walking distance. The hostel facilities are great, too. The kitchen was nice and large and there was plenty of storage for anything you might buy (I'd recommend going to Pak N Save, about 10-15 minutes walk). The staff were super friendly and helped us book tours and gave great advice. The only complaint I would have is that it was quite noisy in our room (17) as it was close to some kind of generator or machine that kept stopping and starting. I'm not sure if this happens all the time, but it did for the 3 nights we were there.

Glad to see that the kitchen has a freezer and stainless steel cookware. The tea towels were fresh and a clean supply always available. The TV needs updating to enable more chaanels to be viewed. A second TV (e.g.maybe in the kitchen or dining areas) would give those relaxing to view another program or even a DVD!

A great hostel, well designed and located. The best that I've stayed at in New Zealand.
