The hostel is close to the centre of one of Germany's best preserved medieval towns where sights include the Gothic Church of St Jacob, the Kriminal museum (dedicated to medieval crime and punishment) and the intriguing Reichsstadtmuseum housed in a former convent. The hostel offers internet access, laundry and meals, and has capacity for 184 guests.

The youth hostel is situated in the southern part of the old town. Rothenburg is one of the best preserved medieval towns in Germany and has a town wall that can be walked on. Other attractions are the town hall, the gothic St James’s church (Jakobskirche) and the Medieval Criminal Justice Museum.
