Reykjavík Downtown Hostel has firmly established itself as one of the most highly recommended HI Hostels in the world, providing comfortable and classy accommodation and excellent service at an affordable price. It is nestled a stones throw from the lively harbor area, in the heart of downtown Reykjavík, within minutes from most of Reykjavík’s bars, clubs, cafes and restaurants, yet in a quiet residential street. It has been an Eco certified place to stay since 2010.
The hostel facilities include Free Wi-Fi in all rooms and lounges, free computer access, book exchange, a coffee bar and a fully equipped kitchen and lounge. Free luggage storage during stay and long term storage on request. Our mostly organic breakfast buffet is a good start to the day. Free movie nights and music events are hosted in the lobby on a regular basis.
Reykjavík Downtown hostel boasts spacious 4 and 10 bed dorms, all with lockers included, family rooms that accommodate up to 5 persons, and double rooms with shared or private facilities. All double rooms come with linen included. Female only dorms and single rooms are available upon request.
The hostel team is happy to give local advice on services and attractions and arrange your tours for free; car rentals with free pick up, bike rental and all local transport. Great specials and package deals available.

Directions
| Bus: | Two different bus types operating in Iceland. The first are the local city buses, called Stræto. The reach some of the outer suburbs and all the way to Selfoss and Akranes. The schedules and routes can be found on www.bus.is The latter are more like tour buses and are operated by various companies to most corners of the country. From Reykjavík they depart from the BSÍ terminal. Schedules and more information can be found at www.bsi.is. |
| Parking: | You will find metered parking directly outside the Hostel which is free after 18:00 and on Sundays. Otherwise, free parking is available a short walk away. |
| Location: | In the city center, above the old harbor. Within walking distance from most of the city’s services and attractions. |
| Airport: | Keflavík Airport: FlyBus and Airport Express run to a schedule connecting with every flight, and will drop you off at the hostel upon request. Reykjavík Airport: Take bus #15 to Hlemmur, change to bus #14 and get off at Mýrargata bus stop. Also very close to Lækjartorg bus terminal, the stop of several other routes. |
