The small district capital of Ratzeburg is situated right at the heart of the Lauenburg Lakes Nature Reserve. The Old Salt Road, a historic trade route from Lüneburg to Lübeck, runs through this green landscape. Nature lovers can discover a different area every day and recharge their batteries at the same time.
The youth hostel is located right on the Küchensee Lake, on the southern edge of the city island next to the indoor swimming pool and the bathing beach. This great location is ideal for outdoor activities such as sailing, rowing, pedalo, canoeing, hydrobiking, handcar trips and cycling.
