Just before entering the oldest town in Slovenia, only 100 meters before crossing for Ptuj bridge we are awaiting for you in Hostel Sonce (Sun). If you are in Ptuj, or you intend to come, it is a stay by us, on the right bank of the River Drava, an excellent choice. Even if desire for visiting famous Ptuj castle brings you in this area, or visit to old town center, or one of the Mitra shrines in Hajdina, or you wish to visit the most beautiful Gothic church in Slovenia on Ptuj mountain, or one of the most beautiful baroque mansions in Dornava, than Hostel Sonce (Sun) is the right choice. In the immediate vicinity of the Hostel Sonce (Sun) there are a lot of opportunities for entertainment. Only one mile away there are swimming pools, golf courses and the largest artificial lake in Slovenia which offers a lot of opportunities for recreation and water sports.
In Ptuj each year at the end of the winter time kurentovanje is going on, where diverse masks are competing from different places, among them local carnival mask Kurent, which is world famous specialty. Kurent began to fight the winter as a demon and he began to call spring in the land. With wild dance and with bells sounding he represents ancient experiment of an ordinary man to influence natural lows with magic.
Hostel Sonce (Sun) is unique, furnished in an elegant hotel style. Recently it has been carefully refurbished in desire to offer guests hospitality with modern comfort (internet, wireless internet, TV, air conditioning, bed linen, towels) in each room. In front of the hostel we have on disposal 7 hostel's own parking spaces. You can stay in single, double or multi-bed rooms, all equipped with their own bathrooms and air conditioning. Between rooms, on corridors and on the balcony you will find many places, where you will be able to chat, rest and relax. Small morning joys, like coffee and cigarettes, you can afford on the terrace at the entrance. It is at your disposal also big reception, where you can enjoy a coffee from machine, other hot and cold drinks, or you can watch television on big screen.
Hostel Sonce (Sun) offers you a unique opportunity to relax your eyes during overlooking Ptuj Castle, nevertheless it glitters in the sun or rest under moon and stars. Just as sun warms you up, fills you with energy and good will, so it is in Hostel Sonce (Sun). His friends we are taking care of him and we are working hard that he maintain his own solar energy with our help and that he transmit energy to travelers, businessmen, holidaymakers and to everybody who come into his world.
