"Alte Feuerwache" (old fire station)
First mentioned in 1122, in 15 c. Plauen became a centre of textile manufacturing, lace in particular. Lace from Plauen won many prizes (Grand Prix in Paris in 1900). The centre of the “Vogtland capital” is characterized by steep slopes, historic tramways, ancient and modern buildings.. Surrounded by unspoilt nature, Plauen is situated in Saxony’s Vogtland, close to the borders of Thuringia, Bavaria and the Czech Republic. This family hostel is an old fire station at the heart of the historic centre, above the town hall and very close to museums, theatre, cinema, cultural and creative centres, the mine, sports facilities, a cornucopia of bars, cafés and restaurants as well as inviting shopping malls.
People of 27 years or over pay a surcharge of €3 per night.
Surcharge for single and twin rooms p. p. p. n. (subject to availability): Single: €10 Twin: €4 (doesn’t apply to group guides);
Rebate for children: Up to 2 years free of charge, 3 – 13 years 30% rebate;
Group rebate: For a group of 20 paying customers another one totally free (accommodation, sheets and meals at the YH).
