At HI Phuket hostel there is no need to pay a lot more to stay on the beach, our dormitory starts from 180bt including breakfast, we're only a couple of km from the sea (Chalong bay) motorcycle taxi cost 30bt to the beach.
This 5-storey building is a place for tourists to get together and exchange their travelling experiences. HI Phuket hostel is clean, quiet and provides a friendly atmosphere. It is well located on the main street, where local buses stop right in front of the hostel. We offer package tours for island hopping, elephant ride, snorkelling, diving etc. We also offer hire motorcycle and car rental. Our staff have local knowledge and can advise you what to see and do.

| Location: | 7km. from down town Phuket, on the main road of Chafah rd. 1km. further from Cahong temple, and on the same side. |
| Rail: | No train to Phuket island. |
| Airport: | Please ask people or driver for WAT CHALONG ( Wat Chalong or Chalong temple is well known temple in Phuket), our hostel is 1km. further and on the same side. Note: Do not believe when the driver try to tell you that YHA is already out of business or too far, they wanted to take you to some place else to get commission. |

| Hostel is on a very busy main road a long way from beaches & airport. Necessary to hire a motor cycle or car.Only stayed the 2 nights booked then moved to a guest house at Karon Beach. | ||

| awful, awful, awful - and i am not a fussy traveller, not at all...where begin? impossible to find, wrong address and map on website, tried to charge me more than quoted nightly rate, wanted me to pay deposit again because she hadn't personally received it, despite listing as having wifi there wasn't any, the one common computer was used everyday by her son who "wants to play video games"...booked for eight nights, stayed only one because it was too late by the time i found it to find something else... | ||

| it was the worst youth hostel ive ever stayed...ther was no proper bathroom with a latch...no kitchen...no water kettle even...the staff was very rude...and for breakfast we were served jus exactly 2 slices of bread with no accopaniments... ive been to many youth hostels across the world but this was my worst stay...im telling this for a improvement rating | ||

| It's too far from Patong and Kata. So it's very very cheap. If I went to Phuket next time, I would choose anther one. Because it's too far. | ||
