Southern city where life and party are in the street, Perpignan and its Youth Hostel have everything to attract its visitors, thanks to the typical catalan atmosphere. While visiting the Majorca Kings' Palace, one can feel the influence of nearby Spain... Dali must have liked it very much, as he stayed here very often!

| Overall not super bad if you are just looking for a bed... we turned up at 2pm to be greeted with a sign on the door saying they are not open till 6:30 pm (we had to wait till then to check in)
the rooms were very cold! and the heating does not work, so pack lots of extra layers. Other than that the staff were friendly and gave some good tips of were to eat and visit. | ||

| It's mainly a place to sleep. No computers, stupid lock out times (10 am - 5 pm) when you can't enter the rooms, not even many electricity sockets in the rooms. Common room is closed at 10 pm, no socializing after that. Poor place over all. | ||

| Have stayed several days once per year for last 3 years in YH Perpignan. Although this YH has always been satisfactory to good, I find additional improvement this year. Biggest improvement has been in the breakfast--which is now excellent. The staff competent and helpful (but have been before as well). Also like the cotton (not synthetic) sheets. In room lockers are spacious, and I like the locking system (coin slot and key). A very nice hostel. | ||

| THE HOSTEL STATES ONLINE THAT THEY ARE OPEN UNTIL 11 AM, UNFORTUNATELY THEY ARE NOT!!! DO NOT BE FOOLED, THERE IS SOMEONE THERE UNTIL 11AM, BUT ONLY TO ANSWER THE PHONE! THEY ARE OPEN UNTIL 10 AM, THEN THEY DO NOT LET YOU STAY IN...WHEN I ARRIVED I WAS STUCK THERE OUTSIDE THIS HOSTEL WITH MY LUGGAGE FROM 10.30 AM UNTIL 5PM, TIME WHEN THEY RE-OPENED...I ASKED ABOUT IT AND WAS TOLD THAT THEY CLOSE AT 10AM INDEED...ALSO, THE CLEANER DOES NOT MOP THE FLOOR EVERY DAY, SO THE FLOORS IN THE DORMITORIES ARE DIRTY! tHE CLEANING CUPBOARD WAS OPEN, i HAD A LOOK INSIDE: NO SIGN OF A MOP!!! APART FROM THIS, THE LOCATION OF THE HOSTEL IS IDEAL, THERE IS A BUS STOP OUTSIDE THE POLICE STATION TO GO TO THE TRAIN STATION IN ONE DIRECTION, AND TO THE CITY CENTRE IN THE OTHER, ALL OUTSIDE THE POLICE STATION...iF YOU LIKE WALKING, IT IS 5 MINUTES TO THE SHOPS BY FOOT, AND 10 MINUTES TO THE TRAIN/BUS STATION . | ||

| Lovely helpful and friendly staff, clean and tidy rooms, showers and bathrooms. A fairy simple kitchen that includes everything you need for the stay- with a microwave, two hobs, two fridges and a sink with eating area. Really nice breakfast, loads of choice- bread, cheese, ham, brie, cereal, yogurts, fruit, juice and coffee. Only 1euro10 on the bus into perpignan and anywhere else on the same route (including the nearest beach) and although buses stop early on in the evening (around 7) its only 7euros from the centre of perpignan to the hostel. Was a little worried about our stay here after reading the previous reviews but had a really good stay, would recommend staying here and would certainly go again! | ||

| They cancelled my reservation, even though I had paid a deposit and received a confirmation. They did the same to every other person who arrived- however, I had double-checked before my checkin and noticed the problem/made a fuss, so I was the only one allowed to stay several nights. It is located right by the police dept, and the police dogs bark all night. It is a lengthy walk into town and they lock the doors for most of the day. I really, really appreciated that they had an included breakfast. | ||

| No repetiré! | ||

| It was incredibly difficult to find the hostel as the website directions and the street signs were contradictory and confusing. We arrived to check in at around 2pm only to find that it does not open until 5pm, which we were not informed of at the time of booking. By 5.30pm we were checked in by a member of staff who was having to do everything on her own and was very rushed as a result. If we had known in advance we would have been able to amend our travel plans. The facilities were of a less than acceptable standard, the kitchen especially was not a suitable place to prepare food. The experience left us with a very bitter feeling towards the hostel and we left after 1 night, though we had paid for two. I would not recommend this hostel to anybody in its current state, it needs work with both the facilities and organisation before it is a good place to stay. | ||

| Worst HI I have ever stayed at. Locker was broken and I was advised by the owner that he was not obliged to fix it. Breakfast plates, cups and cutlery dirty. Hostel itself grungy - needs a good scrub. Owner not helpful with any sights in the area. Lockout too long. Do not recommend. | ||
