An early Georgian manor house set in landscaped gardens, the hostel offers great views of Cornwall's Mount's Bay and the Lizard Peninsula. Among other attractions, St Michael's Mount and St Ives (home of the Tate St Ives Gallery) are nearby. Rooms have 2-6+ beds and facilities include laundry, kitchen and evening meals.

Penzance YHA dates from 1720, can now accommodate up to 100 guests in 22 bedrooms, most with no more than six beds. One room is fully accessible for wheelchair users and a new welcoming reception has also been created.

The project has breathed new life into the bricks and mortar of this spectacular old manor house.

Convenient to the A30 for those with a car but a longish uphill walk for those without. A lovely old building, helpful staff and great brakfast and evening meals available.

Last stay in the hostel in 2007 with my wife, and this time, with my brother. Both of them love this place very much. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Thank once again to Naula and her dog (Cola).....

A nice historical building set in a beatiful and quiet location, easy to find, if you're coming from the east on A30, just pass the hospital roundabout, there's a brown sign posted "Castle Horneck Hostel" on the right hand side. You can't miss it. The room spacious and the kitchen well equipped, very clean through out.The staff are extremly friendly and helpful, it's one of the best hostel I've even stayed.

Paul Cavanaugh and his staff are amazing!!! The building and it's facilities are immaculate!! I refuse to stay anywhere else. The staff is friendly and they go above and beyond to make sure each member knows where to go sightsee in the area, and how to get there. You feel so welcomed at Castle Horneck Alverton Penzance. WELL DONE TO THE PENZANCE YHA STAFF!!!

A good location to explore Penzance and the Penwith peninsula. Staff is extremely friendly and helpful. My stay in this hostel was very agreable, I hope I can visit Pensance again in the future. I will be staying at the YHA, without a doubt! The food was also great!

If you are looking for an accomodation in Cornwall, take this! Unlike the busy tourist city St Ives Penzance is more authentic. The youth hostel is a 15 minutes walk away from the city centre, but easy to find and really handsome. Everything is new, clean and very comfy.
