Lively, retro and full of character, this quietly located Scandinavian style building is ideal for exploring the surrounding ridges and fells. The energetic will want to scale Helvellyn or try mountain biking and rock climbing. Those after a relaxing break can chill out on the Ullswater steamers.
YHA Patterdale is a great place for a party and Irish Ceilidhs, Salsa weekends, and special meals can all be organised for you. Plenty of toys, games and DVDs are available to keep children entertained and there are pubs in the village and more cafes and restaurants in nearby Glenridding. Home cooked meals are available. All are welcome but please contact us before booking if you are bringing a child under five.

| I ate at Patterdale adn the food was lovely, but i noticed that at other hostels the meals were repeated. I would prefer it to be how it used to be with meals cooked properly at hostels. Who cares about health and safety? Not me. Long live germs. patterdale was fine but should sell sanitary towels by the packet and not individually. Some things are more important than profit. I loved the communal area - the sinks in the kitche are too big. | ||
