Run down neighborhood wasn't as much a problem as the place itself. WI FI is not free. One key per room. Breakfast is a joke. Common room is just a bench. Its conveniently close to a rail hub so theres that. Oh and a micro wave for a kitchen. Pay the extra go somewhere better.

The sanitary provisions will be renewed - which is necessary I would say. Breakfast is very poor.. but then again, it's Paris ;)

The breakfast is the worst I have had anywhere: old bread and jam. The washrooms still leave much to be desired. Talking to other travellers, it seems like there are much better places to stay in the city for one one or two dollars more per night.

I got a lot of bed bug bites while staying in one of the female dormitories.

Location good but was noisey all through the night. Dining lady rather grumpy, shame really as we were celebrating a 70th and she could have been less draculian!

Location wise, its wonderful. very close to the Republic Metro. But, the worst breakfast I had ever in my life. They didn't even have milk and cereals. the showers doesn't work. the windows doesn't close properly. the lift doesn't work. if you have luggage and your room is in 4th floor, you need to carry your suitcases by the stair cases. you have to pay for the internet as well.

I am filling this out on behalf of my parents; I suggested staying at a hostel during their visit in Paris; it was their 50th wedding anniversary & they visited 4 countries; overall, they had a great experience at your hostel and would do it again
