In central Ockelbo lies a beautiful house set in expansive, lush gardens. Built during the 19th century as a home for the local curate, it has served as a hostel for the past few years.

Now newly renovated inside and out, guests are accommodated in double bedrooms or dormitories, with access to a communal kitchen. From here the best the region has to offer is within reach. You can shop, take a gentle stroll along the shore or cool down with an evening dip. There are many fishing lakes for those who fancy dropping a line, and skiers are well placed in the winter with the Kungsberget Ski Centre just 30 km away.

Hälsans Stig, the ‘Path of Health’, is located in Ockelbo, and surrounds the village before stretching along the southwestern shore of Bysjön and the culturally historical Wij area with its special garden facility. The path was created in the 1960s to encourage walking and exercise. Journey a little further outside Ockelbo to Finnskogsriket, which has a vast and unique landscape and culture and lies between Hälsingland, Gästrikland and Dalarna.
