The gateway to the Western Isles, Oban makes a great base for touring, hiking, biking and boating. Oban youth hostel is set on the seafront and is close to ferry terminals and a sailing school. | Self-catering kitchen needs to be larger when have school groups. Showers consume a lot of water that cannot be regulated -- either off or flat out.
