The small seaside town of Newcastle nestles at the foot of the Mourne Mountains on the County Down Coast. Overlooking Newcastle beach, this traditional hostel offers budget accommodation, suited to groups, families, individuals and walkers who wish to explore the majestic Mourne Mountains. The hostel is located in the centre of Newcastle seaside resort with good access to all amenities and close to Castlewellan Forest Park, Mountains of Mourne, Murlough Beach and Soak Seaweed Baths.
There are a range of room sizes available, a fully equipped self catering kitchen and a self-contained family apartment which can accommodate up to 4 people. A children’s adventure playground is located across the road from the hostel.

| Staff could do with some sort of training on how to deal with people and I was not sure they new what they were doing. I did get the impression that paying hostellers like myself were a bit of an inconvenience.
Fixture and fittings badly need an upgrade. The cleaner needs some training too - on how to clean! value was poor the night before I stayed in Belfast whch was a lot cheaper and the standard was far higher. I dont mind paying but in this instance I was not sure what I was paying for.
On a positive note the location was perfect
I am aware that there is not the same compettion in the Newcastle area compared to belfast but that is no exscuse for the negatives I have noted above. | ||
