Nebra is situated in the beautiful valley of the river Unstrut, an area with an eventful history in the “Saale-Unstrut-Triasland” conservation area. The Mittelberg hill close to Nebra was where the "Sky Disc" was found, a Bronze Age astronomic artefact, and the “Romanesque Road” as well as the "Saale Unstrut Wine Road" go through this region.
