Located right on the beachfront, this hostel is full of character with fantastic seaviews, spacious rooms, friendly staff and a great atmosphere. Chill out or dine out in our attractive courtyard. There's plenty to do in Napier and we can help you plan art deco, wine, gannet or sightseeing tours.

On the East Coast of N.Z. Napier was destroyed by earthquake and fire in February 1931. It was quickly rebuilt and is an architectural gem of the period in Art Deco and Spanish Mission style. The Art Deco Trust offers guided walks daily. Napier is located in Hawkes Bay and enjoys a sparkling dry sunny climate. It is a bountiful region producing fine wine, food and fruits. Tours to rock your taste buds are easily arranged. Nearby at Cape Kidnappers (25Kms) there are on shore Gannet colonies. We can help you find ways to get up "real close" with this supurb streamline seabird Oct-May. There are a number of other attractions within easy walking distance of the hostel including the National Aquarium, Marineland (marine zoo), Hawkes Bay Museum, The Art Deco Trust, Ocean Spa (hot salt water pools), Mini Golf and playgrounds for the kids. Its a great place to slow down and chill out but if you do want to use up a bit of adrenalin there is parasailing, rafting, ballooning and river or sea kayaking available within easy distance.
